  • How is shipping handled?

    A. Our trained staff will pack your item to insure its safety while in transport. We ship most items insured UPS, while some smaller items may be shipped USPS. Once your item is packed and ready to be shipped we will contact you for a credit card number or for a check for payment of the balance due. Once payment is received your item will be shipped to you.

How safe are the processes our items will go through?

    A. We have been in business for 40 years and take the utmost care in handling your precious items. Our skilled craftsmen are well aware of the care needed for handling your items and will do everything possible to ensure the safety of your special piece.

Words of Wisdom from Antique Service Center
The home remedies many of you hear about such as ketchup, toilet bowl cleaner, salt and vinegar-cause much damage to your metal piece; the acids in these types of materials will corrode and damage your items-sometimes beyond repair. Before using the many types of home remedies you hear about please contact us and we will be happy to talk with you about them

How long will the finish last?

    A. There is no way to offer a definite answer to that question. The wear and use of the items will determine the length of time the finish will last. Some items that are only decorative and will not receive hard use can last up to 20 years. Some items such as bathroom hardware and door hardware that receive moisture and hard use will not last as long.

Does restoring my antique destroy the value?

    A. In our opinion restoring your item will preserve it for many more years of lasting enjoyment. If metal is not preserved, at some point it will deteriorate to the point of being worthless. This is our opinion; however, there are other thoughts on the subject.

Does my piece have to be done in real high shine?

    A. No, we have 22 different finishes available from the high shine to several different shades of an antique finish. You can choose the finish that is most suitable to your taste. Click HERE to view a complete list of our finishes.
